Member information
belongs to the church

Oliveline handles the information entrusted to it only within the scope we've promised. The church decides who sees what, and every view and change is recorded, without exception.

The more sensitive the information,
the deeper we lock it

  • Never mixed with another churchEach church's data is separated from inside the database itself. People from another church have no way to see yours.
  • Sensitive numbers are locked with encryptionKorean resident registration numbers and bank account numbers are encrypted separately, and on screen they appear only to those who truly need them.
  • Every access leaves a recordOpening, editing, and even attempts blocked for lack of permission are recorded with who and when.

The basics, without gaps:
how we protect data today

Access and sign-in
  • Every connection travels only over encrypted HTTPS
  • Passwords are stored only in a form that can't be turned back into the original
  • Staff accounts can turn on two-step verification with an authenticator app or security key, and a church can make it mandatory
  • No one can just sign up. Staff are invited by an administrator; members join after a membership check and a verification code
Who can see what
  • For each office and role you choose the scope: self, family, department, campus, or the whole church
  • Finance access is granted separately. The senior pastor can be shown totals only
  • Whoever writes a pastoral visit note chooses: only me, my team, or all ministry staff
  • Permissions are checked on the server, not just on screen
Data storage
  • Each church's data is separated from inside the database itself
  • Resident registration and bank account numbers are encrypted separately
  • The storage itself is encrypted as well
  • Only people already in the member records can join the member app, using a code sent to the number on file
Records and recovery
  • Opening, editing and blocked attempts are all recorded with who and when
  • Find past records right away on the change history screen
  • Members deleted by mistake can be restored from the trash
  • Your whole church can be restored from a backup
Operations
  • Public forms such as newcomer registration are protected against repeated submissions
  • We're alerted the moment an error occurs, and we fix it
  • We have a designated privacy officer who answers questions directly

  • If you stop using Oliveline, download everything to Excel and we delete it as soon as you ask

    Member information is not used to train AI.

  • Only the right people see it, and every access is logged

    You set what each church office and role can see, and we log views, changes and even blocked attempts.

Who sees what
is up to the church

Pick a permission template that fits each person's role. Even with the same permission, you can set how far someone sees: themselves, their family, their department, their campus, or the whole church.

A small group leader can see only the members of their own group, and a Sunday school teacher only their own department.

Giving details are seen
only by the finance team

Finance permissions are separate from member record permissions. The senior pastor can be shown totals only, and an outside accountant can be given access limited to exactly what they need.

Whoever writes a visit note
decides who sees it

Pastoral visit notes are saved as "Only me" at first. The person who wrote the note decides whether to open it to their care team or to all ministry staff.

Who did what, and when,
is always recorded

When someone opens or edits member information or enters giving, the record shows who looked at or changed what, and when. Attempts blocked for lack of permission are recorded too.

For each member you can open the change history and see the old and new values side by side.

Sign-in is
checked twice

Staff accounts can use two-step verification, confirming with an authenticator app or security key on top of the password. A church administrator can make it mandatory.

Common questions about member data

Can the senior pastor see each member's giving?
The church decides. With the "senior pastor totals" permission, only totals and trends are shown; giving by member is visible only to people with finance permissions.
Can a member deleted by mistake be restored?
Yes. Deleted members go to the trash first and can be restored. You can also roll back to an earlier state from the church's backup history.
Is member information used to train AI?
No. Member information is not used to train AI. The AI assistant is still in preparation.
If we stop using Oliveline, can we take our data?
The member directory and giving and ledger data can be downloaded to Excel at any time. If you stop using Oliveline, download everything to Excel, and we'll delete your data as soon as you ask.
Can a small group leader see only their own group's members?
Yes. Pick a permission template and set the viewing scope to "Department", and the leader sees only the members of their own group.
